Craniosacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was developed by an Osteopathic Physician, Dr. Upledger from 1975 – 1983.

It is gentle therapy that involves light pressure on the skull bones. Craniosacral works with the subtle movements of the bones releasing blockages when they become restricted. There is fluid that naturally surrounds the brain and spinal cord that gently flows, providing nutrients to the brain and taking away toxins. When this flow becomes restricted, people may experience pain, stress, low energy and mood. Craniosacral works by feeling the subtle movement of cranial bones and using gentle pressure and direction of energy to allow the free movement of bones and fluid.

Craniosacral is a very relaxing therapy and effective for helping with headaches, mood problems, dizziness and post concussion syndrome. Since craniosacral is deeply grounding for the central nervous system, it is helpful in conditions of tension and stress.

It is safe and effective for children with anxiety and hyperactivity since it helps calm down the nervous system. Dr. Serena uses it in conjunction with Bowen Therapy for a whole body nervous system re-boot.
