Dr. Krista Braun, ND My practice is family oriented and I welcome patients of any age, with any ailment. Along with my general practice, I often see patients for hormone balance, immune conditions, thyroid health, pain management, arthritis, diabetes, digestive health, and mental health. I have a special focus in women’s health – for women at all stages of life who are working to juggle the many roles woman have. The woman is often the backbone of her family and without her, everything crumbles. It is often that she will put her family and her career before herself, and this is where her health is compromised. It is my goal in practice to support women at every stage in their life, and to keep them and their family strong and inspired. I am trained in Bio-identical Hormone Therapy and Thyroid Therapy and am licenced in Acupuncture and Bowen Therapy. I hold a pharmaceutical prescriptive license in BC. Along with these, I employ botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, lifestyle counselling, and homeopathy. My aim as your naturopathic doctor is to search beneath the surface of your health challenges to find and treat the root cause, and to provide realistic solutions that will heal and prevent future illness. I will give you space and time to freely discuss your health concerns and educate you about your illness and how you can work towards health. I received my Doctorate from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in 2010. I am a member of the BC Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and registered with the College of Naturopathic Physician of BC (CNPBC). I am dedicated to the practice of assisting patients as they overcome any obstacle to health. Through the stories of my patients, I have come to know that the human body is capable of incredible healing and one’s journey to great health can reach far and beyond their expectations. Obstacles in life may cause us to breakdown; however, when we are ready, this can also allow us to break open, and help us move toward a place of healing and wisdom. Whether you are feeling stuck for reasons beyond your knowing or have encountered unexpected life circumstances, know that you are not alone. To be human, is to experience challenges at various stages of our lives. My goal is to help you navigate these stages and work through the very thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are keeping you from living freely.

I practice from a place of compassion and curiosity and seek to find what is unique about each and every individual whom I support. My goal is to create a non-judgmental and trusting working relationship where you are heard and seen as you are, and where you feel safe to engage in self-exploration.

My practice is grounded in the notion that while we are all whole, the challenges that come from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss among other life stressors, can allow us to lose sight of our wholeness. Through a collabroative approach, we will work together to break through barriers and enter into a place of strength and resilience.

While I work holistically and incorporate techniques from a number of therapeutic modalities, (such as, solution focused therapy, emotion focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy), my practice is rooted in the polyvagal theory, which considers how the mind and body are interconnected. As such, our working relationship will invite you to consider how your body can store past and current stressors and impact your health and wellbeing. With this framework in mind, our goal will be to not only support your cognitive functioning, but also to promote physical wellbeing.

I have over 10 years of experience in supporting individuals, youth and families/caregivers for various mental health challenges. My education includes a Master’s Degree in Counselling as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. My passion in this field leaves me committed to lifelong learning, as I regularly engage in training and workshops that will allow me to refine my skills and continue to practice from a place of objectivity.

If my approach and experience may be a good fit for you, please feel free to book a free 20 minute consultation where we can explore how we may best work together!

I look forward to meeting with you.
