With all the challenges we are facing these days, having support can make a world of difference. Whether you are coping with overwhelming daily stressors, anxiety, depression, or trauma, connecting with a counsellor helps to build your resilience and lessen any distressing symptoms that are interfering with your functioning.

Kate infuses caring authenticity and an inviting warmth into the counselling relationship that allows clients to relax into the therapy process. She provides a safe space to develop more self-awareness and insight through mindfulness, while infusing self-compassion and small doses of laughter into therapy sessions. Kate’s therapy approach incorporates mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, and somatic therapy (bodily awareness) to create a therapy experience that is tailored to the challenges of each individual client. Kate seeks to collaborate with clients to find coping techniques that work for you and your specific needs.

Kate is a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, she holds a Master’s of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and a Bachelors degree in psychology from SFU. She has applied training in Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy for treating trauma and exploring how past experiences manifest in the body, as she believes the key to healing lies in the mind-body connection. Kate has also trained with the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI) and the Crisis Centre of BC in mental health concerns and suicide prevention.

As a parent, Kate has a special interest in perinatal mental health- pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenting- to inspire parents or soon-to-be parents to bring mindful awareness into their daily lives. She has experience and training from the Pacific Postpartum Support Society, certificate training in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International, and education from Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Trainings.

We invite you to explore how Kate’s unique experience, education, and approach can provide a pathway to healing on your journey towards mental health. We invite you to book a free 15-minute phone consultation to chat with Kate about how counselling could help you.
