Yeana Kim, R.Ac., R.TCM.P, B.M., is a practitioner of Chinese medicine, acupuncturist, and herbalist. She harmonizes a variety of healing modalities to bring the body, mind, and spirit to a place of balance.  Modalities that Yeana is experienced in are acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, aromatherapy, Tui-Na (Chinese massage), dietary and lifestyle therapies. 

Yeana believes in a whole-body approach to medicine—when you truly find a route to wellness, you target not just the symptoms but the root of the condition. As such, she relies on strong client connection, which means a willingness to listen and understand exactly what’s going on for you—your history, your symptoms, your needs. As an acupuncturist and herbalist, she has worked successfully with patients experiencing mental health conditions, trauma, insomnia, stress, depression, internal medical and autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal issues, women’s health issues such as infertility and hormone imbalance, orthopedic and sports injuries, chronic and acute pain and more

Mental Health

Yeana has always been interested in the mind-body connection. She uses a variety of creative modalities to work with many mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and insomnia. Whether you need to feel grounded, held, heard, lifted, freed, or something entirely unexpected, she’ll find a way to work with you.

Women’s Health & Hormone Balance

Through all the chapters of life, we can experience a range of hormonal imbalances that disrupt multiple levels of health.  Yeana can assess and treat for a wide range of issues that women can experience including PMS, menstrual pain and irregular periods, infertility, menopausal symptoms, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.  Yeana also has training in providing support to women during pregnancy.  For both men and women, Yeana can help to treat hormonal acne, urinaty tract infections, infertility, low sex drive, weight gain or loss, hypothyroid symptoms and fatigue.

Pain & Pain Conditions

Yeana has always been interested in physical fitness and kinesiology. While finishing her doctorate at Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yeana apprenticed with an orthopedic and pain specialist, and became adept at treating injuries and working with pain management.  She has helped numerous athletes, acute and chronic pain clients, those with fibromyalgia and a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and traumas.

Yeana is also well honed with internal medicine, including specifically:  Immune disorders such as arthritis, allergy, weak immune system, slow healing, auto-immune conditions, and eczema); the circulatory system and metabolism disruptions such as weight gain or loss, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, anemia, high cholesterol); and gastrointestinal health issues such as Crohn’s, colitis, gastroparesis, excessive bloating, slow digestion, constipation, and diarrhea.  Yeana also has experience with treating neurological conditions such as nerve pain, Multiple Sclerosis, concussion and cognitive impairment.

Individualized Herbal Medicine. 

Throughout her education and career, Yeana has studied or apprenticed with numerous herbal instructors and mentors. She has come to understand herbal and plant-based medicine as a powerful way to navigate physical and emotional well-being, bringing balance during the changes in season and the winds of life. Through careful observation and investigation, and a strong understanding of the medicine that each plant offers, Yeana constructs formulas specific to the constitution of each individual.

Certifications
Yeana received the Diploma of Acupuncture from PCU College of Holistic Medicine and the Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner from Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Yeana is certified as a Licensed Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners & Acupuncturists of British Columbia. She earned a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Tzu Chi International College in Vancouver.
